What is a SPECIAL EDITION Session?

Special Edition Sessions are shorter sessions scheduled only on set days with back-to-back clients. They can center around particular niche or have a pre-designed look, or are sometimes be just because. But we only host a few of these promotional sessions per year and due to their nature they tend to book up quickly.

How do SPECIAL Edition sessions differ from a full session?

A Full Session is a bespoke private session scheduled on your personally selected date and designed with your personal ideas and goals in mind. Full sessions include mood boards, additional planning, set designs, hair and make-up, and much longer shoot times ( five to ten times as long).

What is the advantage of a SPECIAL EDITION Session?

Due to their shorter length, these sessions are ideal for clients that benefit from quicker shooting times (families with small children or for those that find longer sessions harder to enjoy for whatever reason). They are also a wonderful way to get a session done at a great promotional rate.

how long is a SPECIAL EDITION session?

Depending on the offering, SE sessions are usually 10 minutes long (sometimes more). It is important to arrive and be ready for your session 5 minutes before your scheduled time. Because these are back to back sessions with multiple clients, being more than 5 minutes late could mean forfeiting your session. Session length is always noted on the current offering.

how do i prepare for my session?

Once you have purchased your spot, I will be in touch to guide you through the process of getting ready for your session. I promise to make it super easy and even fun.

ARE THE IMAGES EDITED?

Editing and retouching are both part of the post-production process, but they serve different purposes. Editing includes adjustments like cropping, color correction, exposure tweaks, and overall toning to ensure the images look polished and cohesive as a set. Retouching goes a step further, involving more detailed work such as skin smoothing, blemish removal, flyaway hair adjustments, or even background cleanups and even photo manipulation. While all delivered images receive professional editing, retouching can be purchased separately as it is typically done selectively to enhance specific details at the client’s request.

when are images ready?

Reveal & Image Selection Meetings are usually set 48 hours after your session. Edits for your selected images will be ready within 1 week post reveal. Unless otherwise noted, you will be contacted to set up your reveal and ordering appointment shortly after your session. During your Reveal and Image Selection appointment, we’ll choose your favorite images included with your session purchase, go over all questions, and set up delivery of your gallery.

HOW MANY IMAGES DO I GET TO CHOOSE FROM? What if i like more than THE AMOUNT OF images OFFERED?

Special Edition Sessions capture between 20 and 30 images (sometimes a little less or more depending on various factors). Don’t worry; you’ll have plenty of images to choose from. We do offer an opportunity to purchase extra images on the day of your reveal. Regular A la carte image pricing is: $150/each. On the day of your reveal, special pricing of $95 each with a buy 2 get one option will be available; or purchase the whole set for a deeper discounted rate based on the size of the collection. Special Reveal Day promotional pricing is only available on the day of your reveal. Unchosen images will be discarded at the end of our reveal meeting.

do you offer printing services?

Absolutely. A print release is included with your image selections should you want to do it yourself. I also provide my personal recommendations to ensure you get the best print possible. However, I offer guaranteed printing through my professional lab (which includes FREE replacement for damaged artwork within 12 months of purchase). As an added bonus, album and wall art purchases include master retouching to ensure there’s not a hair out of place on the custom print orders I provide.

Turn-key custom holiday/special event card designs, labeling and shipping services are available for purchase as well (please inquire). We take all the headache out of Holiday/Announcement cards by doing all of the work. All you do is give us your mailing addresses and we take care of the rest after you’ve approved your design and placed your order for printing.

will i be able to reschedule my session?

In case of inclement weather for outdoor sessions, there will be a reschedule date made available. Due to their nature, Special Edition sessions are non-refundable. If you are unable to make it to your session, I will accept an alternate family or friend who can take your place with a minimum 24 hour notice. Late arrivals forfeit their session.
